KALAMAZOO, MI – Luxury apartments for rent in a new building in downtown Kalamazoo are coming soon.
Residents moving into the Warner building will join commercial tenants including Southwest Michigan First, the Stryker Johnston Foundation, and The Kalamazoo Promise. This emerges from a press release about the development.
Catalyst Development will shortly open the doors to Kalamazoo’s newest option for luxury urban living at 180 E. Water Street, LKF Marketing said in a press release. The space is located in the newly constructed Warner building and has 45 apartments at affordable market and premium prices.

The new property will offer different floor plans, including 20 efficiency apartments as well as one-bedroom units, two-bedroom units and four premium units. LKF Marketing did not immediately respond to a request from MLive for the rental prices desired for each apartment.
“We wanted to build a community within 180 E. Water Street that was accessible to people from all walks of life,” said Patti Owens, vice president and managing director of Catalyst Development. “Right from the start, we wanted this building to reflect the diversity of Kalamazoo. Thanks to its location in the heart of downtown, residents can enjoy the charm and convenience that downtown residents can enjoy. “
Some of the units are ADA accessible and can transform additional units if needed, the press release said.
The residential complex has reserved parking spaces, a gym, a secure post office and a parcel delivery center. A roof terrace, which is connected to a common room, is also available to the residents. The property has on-site security officers, a surveillance system, and video intercoms in each unit.

In addition to the apartments at 180 E. Water Street, the Warner building will also accommodate commercial tenants.
The building’s commercial space will house offices for local businesses and organizations such as Warner Norcross + Judd LLP, Southwest Michigan First, Communities in Schools, the Stryker Johnston Foundation and The Kalamazoo Promise.
“We look forward to welcoming these organizations and believe that each organization will add something very special to the neighborhood we create,” said Owens.

Josie Boucher, Executive Partner at Warner’s Kalamazoo office, said the company is “honored to join other leading Kalamazoo organizations in this wonderful new space.”
“We expect the Warner building to be seen as a business center and downtown space,” said Boucher. “The cooperation with business development and community organizations is based directly on our values and confirms our commitment to the city.
“Warner is committed to being immersed in every community where we have an office. This location is ideal for us as it is a newly built building in the heart of downtown Kalamazoo that allows Warner to add the vibrancy of the downtown business district. “
While the construction and design partners CSM Group and TowerPinkster are putting the finishing touches to the building, the commercial tenants of the Warner building will move into this summer. Residents will be welcomed to 180 E. Water Street in midsummer, developers say.
